The InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena was nominated as a finalist in the RegioStars Awards 2016.
The award ceremony will honour European regional research projects that are especially carefully considered and innovative. The award ceremony will take place on October 11th, as part of this year's "European Week of Regions and Cities".
As a public-private partnership, the InfectoGnostics research campus is breaking new ground in the diagnostics of infections. The Jena-based initiative has already brought together more than 30 regional and international partners from science, medicine, and business. Together they are researching andd developing market-ready solutions for the rapid and cost-effective on-site analysis (point-of-care testing) of infections. With the "CarbDetect AS-2 Kit", InfectoGnostics's partner Alere presented the first commercial product from the central campus project in 2016 the first commercial product from the central campus project vorstellen.
For its innovative cooperation concept and the promising development, the InfectoGnostics research campus has now nominated for the European RegioStars Award n the category "Intelligent Growth". The winners
will be announced on October 11th, in Brussels at the „European Week of Regions and Cities.“ European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Corina Crețu, will present the award on-site.
