Renovation of the Kammerfrauenhaus and the Schönfärbe in Weimar

The Wittumspalais in Weimar is part of the Ensemble Classical Weimar, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. It is therefore understandable that the preservation of the historic building has top priority

The Klassik Stiftung Weimar is now having significant outbuildings of the widow's residence renovated. With the support of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Thuringian State Chancellery, the Kammerfrauenhaus and the Schönfärbe, a former dye works, are being restored according to the guidelines for the conservation of historical sites. Within the field of culture, the ERDF funding supports various urban development measures such as building projects, marketing attractive cultural offers, and making existing cultural assets accessible to the general public

In addition to repair work on roofs, windows and floors, the building technology is also modernised in the Kammerfrauenhaus and the Schönfärbe. After all, not only urgently needed office space for the employees of the Klassik Stiftung is to be accommodated here. The buildings also provide many rooms for seminars and training courses to make the history of the Wittumspalais tangible. ERDF funding is making a relevant contribution here to the safeguarding of our cultural assets for future generations.
