On May 5, 2025, the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Areas (TMWLLR) invited to Europe Day at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology in Jena! Minister Boos-John was able to visit an exciting research project funded by the ERDF: the acquisition of a mass spectrometer for imaging – an important step for drug research in Thuringia.
This device is intended to replace an existing device, which is more than ten years old and has so far been used for imaging mass spectrometry. A new acquisition is necessary in order to be able to continue to compete with other leading international institutions in the field of imaging mass spectrometry of natural products at the current state of the art and to further expand Thuringia as a center of biomedical research.
