The Europe-wide search for the best cohesion policy projects in 2025 has begun.
Between February 11 and May 20, 2025, beneficiaries of cohesion projects across the EU can apply for the awards:

As in the previous year, the projects compete in five categories that are familiar with the objectives of cohesion policy. The competition categories are
- Category 1: A competitive and smart Europe
- Category 2: A green Europe
- Category 3: A connected Europe
- Category 4: A social and inclusive Europe and
- Category 5: A more citizen-centered Europe
A REGIOSTARS jury of high-level scientists will evaluate the submitted project applications and then select the winners of five categories in the second selection phase, which will be organised as part of EURegionsWeek in Brussels in October. In addition, the public will decide on their own winner among 25 finalists through a public online vote. The winners will be announced at the REGIOSTARS ceremony, the highlight of EURegionsWeek. As part of their prize, the winners will receive a mini-advertising campaign for their project.

How do I apply?
All applications will be submitted via EU Survey this year. Below you will find documents to help you with the application process:

- Frequently asked questions (FAQ): Questions and answers about the eligibility and selection process, submitting your application, and what happens if you are selected as a winner.
- Application form (template): To facilitate preparatory work and support cooperation between project promoters in preparing the application. Please note that only applications submitted via the EU survey will be considered eligible. Applications may be submitted in any of the official languages of the EU.
- Letter of endorsement (template): All applications must be accompanied by a letter of endorsement signed by the managing authority.
