Bielert City Mill Bakery – Regional and resource-saving
The Stadtmühlenbäckerei bakery in Bad Blankenburg has existed since 1411. Since the Bielert family took over the business in 1934, Jürgen and Michael Bielert have been running the Stadtmühlenbäckerei as a family business with full passion in the third generation.
Their craft is based on the principle of producing fresh and delicious baked goods and pastries daily for their customers, using select, regional ingredients. In the interest of wholesome and natural food, they always strive to choose ingredients and processes that are biologically valuable.
The goal of the Stadtmühlenbäckerei Bielert bakery is to produce a variety of baked goods using traditional methods combined with modern technology and to bring a smile to the face of its customers.
Thanks to funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), a heat recovery system with an integrated energy management system was installed in the bakery. This system acts as a control unit for the oven system, enabling more efficient energy use in the refrigeration system and more precise temperature regulation. A further benefit for the Stadtmühlenbäckerei bakery is that the products have a longer shelf life in the refrigerated area, thus improving their quality. The project, funded by the Free State of Thuringia, was co-financed by the European Union through the ERDF.
